Creative Writing: Merry Christmas
(This was early on in Alex's typing career. He was working with his therapist Elizabeth, and his was one of his first attempts at creative writing. At the time he was still spelling by pointing to letters on a letter board; he now uses a bluetooth keyboard to type his thoughts. She asked him to write a story about Christmas morning. I cried pretty hard at this one. -Denise)
So many Christmases ago, there was a boy who did not have real communication. Realizing that he could not talk the way he wanted he could not ask Santa for communication. The boy was absolutely devastated. However Santa does not need language to understand. He landed on the boys rooftop and slid down the chimney. He placed a letter board in the boys stocking. Wonder of wonders the boy who could not communicate could spell. He loved to spell and share his words with the world. This was the merriest Christmas in his life.
